ward camping and weekend update

This picture was taken when we went to the fall festival. it always is fun and put on by the stake and is a huge hit around here. they have bouncy bounces, animal balloon guy, face painting, carnival games, cotton candy, hot dogs, the whole bit. it is like a big carnival except free so it is even better!!! dayna was excited for the cotton candy so i surprised her by standing in line for a good 30 minutes (the longest line there) and presented her with her pink cotton candy...comes to find out that she didn't want any anymore and would rather have skittles she won at the cake walk....grrrr....

We had a busy busy weekend this last weekend. our ward had a camp out at crooked creek camp and it was a lot of fun. it was still really warm just like the summer time. i would say 85 to 90 degrees. dayna had a blast running around with all the other little kiddos and it was quite the night for her. once she finally got asleep someone blew a really loud whistle and she was scared the rest of the night so i stayed in the tent with her the remainder of the time. so i was a little bummed that i didn't get to "socialize" as much as i would have liked to, but it was nice just to have some relaxing time too cause if i was at home i would have been busy doing something i am sure. so i just laid there and watched tom and jerry with her. she refers to it as the cat and mouse movie. dayna is so funny and whenever we pulle the camera out she runs away and pretends to be camera shy but i couldn't pass up this moment once she did fall asleep (around midnight) she really can be a sweet precious little girl.

this is happy baby dax. we ran into some friends of ours at the fall festival and he said that dax looked like the size of a toddler, he's really long too. it made me laugh. i looked at their new baby and i was like they grow so fast, i can't believe dax was that little....they laughed and said i don't think he ever was... but as big as he is, he sure is content and happy as long as there is food around. we started him on rice cereal because he eats too much at night. around 14 ounces at night. which is a lot for his age. dr says they usually wait but he just so big that she gave me the ok. dax is still doing well on his pt visit and he has another visit with the neurologist to check his head, just for a check everything should be fine but better sage than sorry.

jon did well and is pleased on his tests that he was concerned about but upcomes the next beast this week so you know we will have a busy week this week. it just happens to be midterms this week too...so its good that there is progress and moving along and that its midterms already so that is good that they are halfway done with this term. the boys (hans and jon) did not stay over night with us camping because they went to the school to study. so they went up and set us up and left in the evening time while chelsea and i camped and talked and giggled the whole night (ok well not really but we made it to 11:30)

we actually had some interesting things happen to us. we blew up our airmattress and it is a huge airmattress. double thickness kind, anyways people were mocking us and saying it wasn't going to fit but we were determined and i knew it was. just as we get it in the tent it gets stuck on a hook and gets a huge whole in it. determined chelsea asks everyone for duct tape and we ended up with clear mailing tape instead. but we didn't care it was the point that we could get it in and we were going to fix it. we blow it up again and got it in the tent and by the end of the night we were sleeping on nothing, but that wasn't the point, the point is that we got it to fit!!!
also while we were packing up our tent the bishop and his councelor came to us and asked if we needed help...prideful as chelsea and i were we looked at them and were like..."ha. we need help? do we look like we need help? gave them a little girl power cheer and headed on our merry way" well we took it down but we were having a difficult time....fun but difficult time getting the tent back in the bag, maybe we should have asked for help but we wanted to do it ourselves so we wraped the thing up and shoved it in the car and went on and figure jon and hans can figure it out.

well that was our weekend in a nutshell. we had fun, and kept it real like always. this week will bring more stories and more excitment i am sure so stayed tune next week!! hope all is well and my love to all!!

I'm glad you had so much fun at the campout. Wish we could have joined you. I'm looking forward to cooler weather so we can go this Fall and want to snuggle into our sleeping bags. Sorry about your mattress. YOu got that huge monster in before, you were going to do it again!
