This week the kids had the opportunity to go see the Lion King Broadway production in Seattle. Grandma Dickson came and picked them up on Wednesday evening and drove them back to Buckley. The play was the matinee on Thursday. Here are a couple of pics of the kids enjoying the wait. Grandma said the kids did very well and that they amazed by the performers. They got to meet a couple of the performers before they were in costume, which was pretty cool.
Grandma and Grandpa brought the kids back on Friday evening just in time for Dayna and Dax's school's auction and carnival night. The event was held at the local Junior High and it was very well attended. The kids had a lot of fun and our family won the raffle for tickets to the local waterside park.
Dax loves a good temporary tattoo. Here is showing off his football tattoo he also had a one of a chieftain on his arm, he sported them proudly at his wrestling tournament the next day.
Lani and Avery enjoyed the fishing booth, they were always surprised to find something at the end of their line. It's funny to see how excited kids get about tootsie rolls and small smelly erasers. Oh the simple things! Lani and Dax were able to demonstrate their indoor bowling skills.
The Reactor Rumble at Hanford High School in Richland
This weekend we journeyed out to Richland for Dax's tournament. It was a two hour drive. He was very excited about the additional time he got with Grandma and Grandpa. And Grandpa was able to go down on the side of the mat and help coach him. He started the morning off with a tough match losing in the second round after a long hard fight. He was wrestling hard in the second match and was up 7-0 at the end of the first round when the other boy got a bloody nose and didn't want to continue. He faced another Mat Cat from his own team in his final match. If he won he would get a metal, he was very excited and did very well, pinning the boy in the first round. We celebrated with a trip to Red Robin followed by a long car drive home to show his mom and sisters his new metal at the Reactor Rumble held at Hanford High School.
Dax and his buddies Austin and Walker Bell. They have a lot of fun at practice and do a good job sharing games while waiting for the next match at the tournaments.
