Grammy's Birthday weekend

 It was a nice weekend to head over to Buckley. Janelle had surprised Judy with tickets for the Lion King for her birthday. The weather was very nice and allowed the kids some much needed outside time. They were very involved in the sand box as usual. They served up all sorts of sand delicacies.

Avery is getting so big. Where does the time go. She has developed quite the sassy attitude, I guess that happens when you're the fourth. She is learning how to play on her own but is also learning how to share. She is quick to use the word share when someone else has something that she wants.

We went to visit Great Grandpa Munger at his barn at Emerald Downs, they are training the horses getting ready for the upcoming season. He prepares the feed specifically for each of his horses.

The kids enjoyed feeding the horses carrots. Dayna was the bravest of the bunch. Avery wasn't sure about the idea. She was just as jumpy as the two year old horses that were trying to figure out what these short humans were doing offering up crunchy orange things.

After she saw the horses eat up all the carrots, Avery decided that she would give them a try. I guess thats the trick, feed dinner to a horse and then the child will try it. I don't know how we didn't think of that earlier. 

Janelle and I had a great time with Milt and Judy at the Lion King. It was a great show, the costumes were amazing. It was really cool to see the detail that was put into the act. The actors and actresses really looked like the animals, you could tell that they had worked hard on their posture and movements. 

This is kind of a cool pic of Dax hanging from the monkey bars. He is a playful kid, he loves to have fun and is a pretty happy boy. He makes me want to be young again, he makes me jealous of how he can shrug things off and how he doesn't get caught up on things that he can't control anyway. There is a lot to learn from his view on his young life. 

Dayna excels in whatever she decides to do. She is a very determined and driven young lady. It is scary and sad to call her a young lady but she really is growing up so fast. She loves sports, music, dancing, acting and school. She is pretty hard on herself sometimes and I can already see her expectations of her performance in whatever she choses to do. The sky is the limit for Dayna.

 All four kids are so unique, but theres no mistaking that Lani is the sweet one. She is the first one to ask for a second hug or kiss. She is quiet and playful but she can flip the switch and the claws come out when goes into wrestler mode. She loves to wrestle with Dax and Dayna until she gets a bump or bonk and then she is the first to run to your arms and snuggle.

On our way home from Buckley this morning we decided to stop at Suncadia Resort. We have driven by the signs a bunch of times. It is by Cle Elum. It was such a perfect day that we couldn't resist slowing down off of the freeway and rolling down the windows. We found this cool little park that was designed to be like an old coal mine. The kids enjoyed the fresh air and the short break on our way home.

Dax and Lani showing off their hop scotch skills. It was cool to see that they added the cement pad to the design for tic tac toe and hop scotch. Some games are classic and never get old.
