This weekend started out with a daddy daughter date with Lani. We went to a local gymnastic gym for some free time. She really enjoyed walking on the balance beam and did a great job. She is pretty athletic and has great balance.

After leaving the gym we went to McDonalds for some chicken nuggets and then over to a local frozen yogurt place for some "ice cream". I think Lani just likes all of the candy she can put in her cup. She has quite the sweet tooth. She can me a run for my money and thats saying something.  In this pic she is showing off her sour gummy worm she put in the ice cream. She was pretending that she was a little bird.

Dax had his first wrestling tournament this past weekend. Of course his first match was against a girl from Ephrata, he did really well and didn't hesitate in taking down a girl. I guess that's to be expected from a boy that has three tough sisters. He won his first match 23-9. He got pinned after fighting long and hard off of his back against one of his teammates that has been wrestling a year or two.
He found peace in his mediations between matches as he visualized his next move. (This is something silly he has been doing lately, the mediation pose, no idea where he got it from.)

 Dax pinned his guy in his third match and then was wrestling for 3rd and 4th where he got beat by points. We are very proud of him, he fought long and hard and came away from the tournament with a lot of good experience and it seems like he had a good time. It was a long day for the three sisters and mommy in the stands. Janelle got into the matches, it makes her nervous watching the videos after the fact. It was funny and nerve racking to see him wrestle, it brought back a lot of emotions from my past experience with the sport but it is good to see that he is not like me and he was able to shake off a loss and move on to the next round.
